FRE

Fre Hooft van Huysduynen is theatermaker, trainer & coach, en ontwerper van transformatieve programma’s in Nederland en daarbuiten.

Ze woonde en werkte jarenlang in Namibië, leidde een internationale non-profit en schreef twaalf jaar lang de dagelijkse strip Jong & Frij in De Telegraaf.

Naast haar werk in leiderschap en coaching maakte ze een tien-delige podcastserie en ontwikkelde ze diverse online formats.

Haar projecten bewegen zich op het snijvlak van theater, menselijke essentie, humor en de moed om te onderzoeken wat werkelijk bijdraagt- in een theaterzaal, in een boardroom of midden in de woestijn.

Vanaf half december 2025 staat ze samen met Jort Kelder in de Nederlandse theaters met Rat van Fortuin, een voorstelling over geld, geluk en de verleiding van buitenwereldsucces.

Hi! Nice to meet you, I'm Fre!

I’ve always been two things at once:
a nerd with a wild imagination, and an extravert with a monk’s inner world.

My question has never changed:
What makes humans truly come alive?
Or in my favourite metaphor:
What makes us glow like a jellyfish?

For almost three decades I’ve worked in places where people crack open and shift - from Namibian deserts to Dutch boardrooms, from theatres to leadership programs.

I’ve led a global non-profit, made theatre across cultures, and wrote a daily comic for twelve years; because laughing at ourselves is the fastest path to truth.

Across all these worlds, I’ve learned one thing:
Play + honesty + courage = transformation.
Every time.

Whether I’m guiding leaders, working with teams, or standing on a stage, my mission is the same:
to create space where what’s good, wise and painfully real can finally speak.

And no, that’s not soft.
That’s the hardest thing we do as humans -
and the thing we long for most. At least I do:)

Collaborations

Staging the Good works through collaboration.
Around every initiative, a new constellation comes alive: of creatives, facilitators, trainers, strategists, producers and artists who bring their own expertise and presence.

On stage I work with a dedicated team; in leadership programs I co-design and co-facilitate with near-enlightened fellow human beings; and in the Namibian field we collaborate with local experts, guides and community professionals.

The form shifts per project, but the principle stays the same: no one transforms alone.
